I can't argue that point, especially since I've still yet to play the game. But I'm tellin you, I WILL get a more powerful PC, and I WILL pick up SC first thing, to see what all your craziness has been about.

The MGS4 bundle was one of the best deals ever if you ask me. A PS3 that had an 80GB hard drive, a DualShock3 controller, was backwards compatible with PS2 games (a huge deal for me since the model being sold today is not) all add up to a great package that any gamer should pick up.

But buying it solely for MGS4 is a little silly. Sure, people will happily enjoy Kojima's latest, but why not embrace all of the other great PS3 games, not to mention its Blu-ray capabilities? That was what I was getting at...not to say that MGS4 is a bad game, but buying an entire console for a single piece of software is something I would never do.

But thats just me. Like you mentioned, there are plenty of people out there who would, and I would say that they might feel a little disappointed when the game comes to an end.

Oh yeah I think we're on the same page. I'm not saying I bought the bundle JUST for MGS4, but it was a big reason.

good lad! a decent PC in today's money is so cheap! you'd get away with something less than a grand assuming you had the basics like monitor etc.

Touche! And I'm sure Sony saw the release of MGS4 as a very capable opportunity to reel in new people aboard the PS3 bandwagon, which is why the bundle was created. Glad to see you are enjoying the machine, if you ask me, the PS3 is the greatest console ever made.

But I'm choosing my words wisely here. I'm talking from both physical and feature perspectives. The amount of things the PS3 is able to do, not to mention the customization options that are readily available for the user all add up to a package better than anything ever released up to this point in the game industry.

Now....what console has the best library of games is a debate that could spawn 20 pages in this thread. But it's not the PS3, that can be said. But I find it impossible to argue the point I made above...the PS3 is a monster, and I mean that in a good way. But the 360 has the advantage of a larger library. But comparing the PS3 against the 360 in terms of just about anything else BESIDES games will result in a laughable landslide towards the PS3 if you ask me. Okay maybe the 360 has the better online service too, but that is also getting to be more and more debatable. Not to mention that the PSN is free.

(I own both, no fanboyism in this post. )

At least you will only be spending about $270-$280 US dollars, AND you do get Wii Sports, so technically you'll be buying another game, too. Oh yeah, tack on an extra...oh, I'd say $25 for Zelda (surely the price has dropped, the game is over 2 years old).

Nope, even the older Zelda is still like full price.

I think I'll just buy a GC for $50 and be happy with that lol

Wow, I find that to be surprising. But I did forget that there was a Gamecube version...if Zelda is the only game you really want, you can just skip the Wii altogether and go for the cheaper alternative.

I agree wholeheartedly. What's also encouraging is it seems that Sony is intent on keeping this console around for a while instead of rushing on to the next iteration. They're really trying to makei t a home entertainment centerpiece. It makes the investment that much more solid in my mind.
............................

Not to threadjack, but is there a way to wirelessly stream my audio and video files from my Dell and my Mac to the ps3 and, alternatively, how can I get the ps3 to recognize my media on other computers? Everytime I search for servers it doesn't detect anything over the wifi in my house.

So true. People on some gaming forums are trying to guess a release year for the PS4. Some are suggesting as soon as next year, and I say that's ridiculous. Sony hasn't said a single word regarding the next Playstation, which is hinting to me that they aren't even close to done with the PS3.

Hell, they haven't even started making money off the damn PS3. Why would they be quick to introduce the next edition when the current one still hasn't sufficiently produced a profit, nor has it been particularly successful in comparison to the other people in the ring (not only is it in 3rd place, but its sales numbers are pathetic compared to what 1 and 2 were able to produce).

I'd say were still a long ways off before we see anything regarding a PS4.

*regarding your question, I'm an idiot when it comes to that sorta thing, so I can't offer any help. But I'm pretty sure what you are asking is entirely possible, just Google search a PS3 help site and I'm sure you'll find your way. Either that, or I'm sure someone on here will know whats up.

When it comes down to games, that point is near-impossible to argue. My favorite video game of all time is home on the SNES (Final Fantasy VI/III).

But the Genesis, PS2, and Dreamcast are all serious contenders as well.

Dreamcast is a shocker. I had one back in the day. Now that I think about it, a great number of the games were awesome, so I gues i could see that. It was definitely before its time. I remember playing NFL2k1 on the built in 56k modem with basically no lag whatsoever. And Shenmue...well...it was ambitious.

My favorite SNES RPG was definitely Chrono Trigger. That actually got me hooked on the RPG genre for a long time (I only play the FFs these days).
