Anyways, I kinda get what you mean...although Clovis is right and minimal was a poor choice of word here...tech house is more like it.

He's playing Solomun, Stimming, H.O.S.H., etc.

From that page, the first sentence:

quote:
Minimalism describes movements in various forms of art and design, especially visual art and music, where the work is stripped down to its most fundamental features.

Which is imo about the most comprehensive definition of minimal in one sentence. There is techno and electronic music that fits this description. Desyn Masiello does not play any of it. Case closed?

Yes, Case closed. Desyn has dropped a couple tracks in the past that could be considered Techno (never a full set though), but no, he's never really touched minimal. At least in any recorded set I've heard from him. Really Tech-house is about as 'Techy' as Desyn goes.

Desyn is originally from some country in the northern of Africa, if im nog mistaken... Hence his 'weird' name.

House was ooit house. Een gevoel, een scene, een stroming die recalcitrant was. Waar als Roderick & Anne Fleur gingen hockeyen, Jack stoer verklaarde: “Laat er house zijn en housemuziek werd geboren”. Waar ongelovigen toch predikten “God made me funky, and I’m glad He blessed me this way”.

I've really been into the Diynamic stuff.. but it isn't really techhouse right? Then again, you can't call it pure deephouse either.

On another board some users started calling it Caliente, due to it's warmth and the Latin influences and percussion. I don't know crap about musical terms though and this is also part of the never ending discussion about genres.

I like it and that's what matters
