Not every sound has to be thick and rich sounding you know...
Z3ta+ is a great synth considering it's age. It just takes a while to learn it well enough.

I'm gonna throw 50-100 bucks in there every week and maybe by summer I can get one, or I may decide to go with a Nord a few months earlier. Nord sounds beautiful but the virus has the ability to put a special "character stamp" in even simple sounds like plucks.

Nord makes nice plucks, but they still sound lost, like they don't know who they belong to.
You hear a virus pluck and you know that pluck belongs to a virus. (a good one)

..this thread was about hardware right?

Why would you WANT people to know where your sound came from? [further more..who cares? lol] I try to make sounds that you couldn't guess where they came from.

Of course. Its not just the thickness of the sound. I just don't like the sound of it. It has a harsh, brittle top end which i don't like. Its just a personal preference i suppose.

I also like a hands on approach these days. Stuff like the nords, voyager etc are awesome for this.

I don't want people to know, or more accurately, I don't care.

What I do care about is the quality of sound a Virus makes. Pressing one key on a virus makes my dick hard, pressing keys on a midi keyboard connected to z3ta doesn't. (even if I try for hours)
Don't ask me why, its kinda like when you look at a fat chick compared to a model.

Sure they both can blow you, but you're going to enjoy it from the model a thousand times better.

Fat chick = vst
Model Chick = Virus TI

Make me a good sound on what ever vst you use and someone else will make a sound 50 times better on a virus. THATS WHY.
