I Guess I started when I first saw the video for Iio-Rapture late on night on mtv2. I loved it. So i talked to some freinds about stuff like it, and they hooked me up. Addicted ever since.

wow...i really never realized how many people just recently started getting into it...myself included, but from what i'm reading here, i've been into it 2 or 3 years more than a lot of you....and i've always considered myself the "newbie", guess thats over, whats next?

its just shocking is all, cuz the amount of knowledge that exists between us is so great...blah, i'm done thinking for the day, it hurts too much

about 2 summers ago when I was staying in Phoenix....
I think I somehow managed to accidentally download Robert Miles - Children (and even though I've heard samples of it now n then, I never really thought about how great it was).... so I found out the genre, etc...and made my way to ta.com

It wasn't until I was exposed to the great mixing skills of Ferry Corsten from his Dance Department (09-15-01) set that I really started getting into trance. I've always had an interest in electronic music like chiptunes, jarre, etc and took a small interest in the dance music played at school sometimes. It was all cheese of course, with alice deejay, darude and ATB, aswell as nick skitz and I got bored it very quickly.

Now back to that liveset, I downloaded it and burnt it to a cd. I listened to the first 20 minutes twice, it sounded nice, not overly exciting though. Then I finally got to listening to it all the way through. The moment when I first heard Push - The Legacy, OMG what a feeling Then DHS - House of God, THEN JOSE AMNESIA - The Eternal!! I've been hooked ever since

skipped music classes for that!

when I was 8-10 I used to hang out at Radio Galaxie 95.3 on the Northern border of France touching Belgium in the city of Wattrelos oh memories memories....
that was 10 years ago I'd say,

The radio was right next to my music school and I used to skip classes to go to the radio and just sit around and listen to the music which basically consisted of :
techno, some trance, and to much dance.
the only track I can name for then is Pinocchio ( damm italian dance! beurk )
I loved the fact they would let me go in the dj booth and just listen to the music.
so that was in 90 something I'd say

Because my appreciation of music is wide, I drifted away from the style, or more so , moved from the area so I didn't have access to that radio frequency anymore....

Well France as we know it is all about the french touch; housey shit. I eventually got into that, but another track I could name is
Laurent Garnier - Wake Up ..... that was a killer! 94 95
Years went by, and there was a record shop in my city and I'd buy the mixed tapes they had, cool psy trance, hard techno.

Another track I can name from that period that affected me is
Humate - love stimulation ( pvd remix ) 95 96 I believe
There was a trance radio show that aired every friday at midnight and I remember waking up to put on the tapes and record ( cause I had classes saturday mornings ).
Between then and now, it's been some parties here and there, but I kinda lost access to the music, so I wasn't listening to it that much.

But this christmas I went to Detroit to meet c-naptik and his g/f and he really put me back into listening to trance.
I'm not a hardcore trance addict, but I must say, electronic music makes my all.

I think it was late 2000, my first trance cd was Goliath 6 mixed by DJ Sakin. Some nice tunes there, I just loved Mario Lopez - Into my Brain and Moni B - Stripped 2000!

Started around 92-93. Listened to a wide variety of electronic music back then, including a lot of the old dark jungle that was coming off of labels like Suburban Bass and Boogie Beats. Also loved the stuff I was hearing on the Dr. Trance Radio Hour (here in Toronto). In 95 I heard Union Jack live at the World Trance Festival (now World Electronic Music Festival) and just forgot other types of music existed!

Used to buy loads of DAT tapes when I was younger of DJs like Sven Vath Westbam Marusha DJ Dag & that was just after i had started to buy Rave tapes & was at middle school in the year of 92. Trance back then was so different to what it has become since.

well, i started with the dance music back pretty much when it started in 88, im not 100% sure when i started listening to trance, my only recollection is my first ever trance single which was way back in '94.. it was westbam - bam bam bam, i was 12 at the time. Around about that time i was listening to the likes of westbam, marusha and DJ Dick, and M.O.M and perhaps a little bit of carl cox.. but back then he played hardcore alongside MC Magika (who is now a hard house MC).

Because i was young.. i thought that the sound of 'cheesecore' was fun, so i started listening to a bit of scooter, and mark oh. hehehe. since then i moved onto UK hard techno which runs in at anything between 230 - 350 b.p.m!! hehee. then at about 96 i started to focus on trance again after a bout of french disco.. thomas bangalter etc..., i think my first trance tune that i bought when i got back into it again.. was mr & mrs smith - gotta get loose (hooj choons) which is an awesome tuney. especially the b-side, which is the mudmen rmx!!!
