0 is a number. like many things in the science real it's not something that can be measured but it must exist. Simply because something can't be measured or seen doesn’t mean it's not there. 0 is nothing, but then again nothing can’t be measured by what’s there, only the lack of anything. also someone stated that it is not a number, but simply something to represent nothing. In that case what is 1, isn’t it but a way we represent when you only have one quantity?

appearently , to the definition of number, 0 is a number:

1. A member of the set of positive integers; one of a series of symbols of unique meaning in a fixed order that can be derived by counting.

2. A member of any of the further sets of mathematical objects, such as negative integers and real numbers.

3. A numeral or a series of numerals used for reference or identification.

look at #2. A member of ANY OF THE FURTHER SETS OF MATHEMATICAL OBJECTS. and #3, zero is a numeral, is it not?

zero:

1. An Arabic numeral or figure; a number.

yes but should it be. The definition of the world used to be

Should it really be a number? I say yes because although it is nothing, it has form, and form implies existence. When you are talking existence it is something that can occupy space. 0 does that
