I can only assume you're saying this based on this event, but along with the fact you posted the last burning man was your first one and been involved with the burner scene around here for a couple years?
It's stereotypes like this is why SF scene is so divided in other times, this is no different then what people negatively say about : Househeads, 1015, Ruby Skye, Burners, Ravers, whatever. Personally this isn't how I see people. These are labels I hear so I'm pointing them out here for their existence.
Simply put if you listen to Electronic Music of any kind, you're a person worth acknowledging when it comes to music.
In any case you went to Burning Man once, been involved a couple years with Burners and now you're posting "all you people" as if you have some sort of ability to judge that it's the best scene ever?
Wow you went to Burning Man last year for the first time. I went in 1999 when sound camps were nothing near the capacity of Opulent Temple. This whole Burning Man scene craze is just something of recent decade along with the big sound camps.
I've read many of your posts including this one. You swear SF has such a massive scene that every stereotype is in their own corner. Our culture is extremely small compared to other cities and we don't have that many venues.
I'm pretty confident I attend more different events on a weekly basis than you and most people on this board. My reason for pointing that out is?
I've been seeing the same people for years whether it's Armin Van Buuren at Ruby Skye, Taj's parties at 1015, Triple Threat's parties at Milk, Cut Chemist at The Independent, Lee Burridge at Compound, Mike Relm at Mezzanine, Vau De Vire Society at DNA, whatever
It's a shame that your way of seeing Opulent Temple's Massive as a judgemental effort of labeling burners as having the best scene - where I see it as Opulent Temple successfully breaking every stereotype by capturing the unity and spirit of San Francisco's Dance Culture.
In reality this event really was no different than 1000 raves that happened in the early and mid 90s. What made it so special is that it captured that energy in a modern time while uniting different kinds of people. Along with the fact the production was amazing.
All you people? Please I'll put money down against anyone that more than 70% of that crowd on Treasure Island has been to Burning Man more than you, has been involved in this city's dance culture longer than you and goes to more different parties than you.
Everybody was there. We're not just realizing it, you're finally just catching on is what it is.
Before you even care to respond just know on another forum I've already stated in the past 5 years alone
From a personal and professional standpoint - aside from Lovefest, this event was the best one hands down when it comes to electronic music
