So I listenend on the way to work - was just long enough, ended as I entered the building. Anyway I quite enjoyed it, liking the firstp art a little better. TBH the whole part between the second Sven Tasnadi song the Going Straigh to Caracas was kind of a haze for me...didn't really notice a lot of the tracks going by as I guess you were mixing the hell out of them.

Also, French title is lame. Hehe. Borat intro f*cking rocked tough, hilarious stuff dude.

I'm chair raving at work right now

Awesome set with rather flawless mixing and really great, in-your-face tunes. Most techno/tech house DJs tend to bore me, but you are one of the few exceptions that really make me rave my tits off.

I'd like to add that last week as I was browsing Beatport I stumbled upon "El Baile", which I absolutely hated. But the way you used it was pretty much spot on and I actually enjoyed that part of the set the most. This is perfect evidence that sometimes it's all about context.

"Me llamo Juan Pachanga"

nope, every loop used is listed in the tracklist. Some of the tracks i listed make only very brief appearances.

thanks!!!!

to be honest i found out about that acappella because ricardo villalobos has been using it in about 1000 different ways for over a year now and i figured i would give my best shot to villalobos a track up.

edit: and i mislabeled usual suspects, the actual track used if jairo catelo - african dub.

edit: the el baile on beatport is not the same thing.

This was siiiick. Your sets always seem to have a lot of bulk / kick to them and I just love that. You never really meander around without a point, always some sort of direction. Really smooth transitions, awesome layering work and track selection, really enjoyed every song on here. I've had kind of a mixing block lately where every transition I do sounds like shit to me, but I think this might have motivated me a bit.

WHY DID YOU INCLUDE THAT BORAT SAMPLE? IT RUINED IT ALL FOR ME.

Yup, just realized it. I must have heard it somewhere else or the track has another name on Beatport. It drove me crazy this afternoon!

Overall, I thought this was a bit too lethargic for me, but then I listened to it a second time, LOUDER, and realised there's a lot of subtle power here. Your excellent taste in music and smooth mixing skills cannot be denied. Really liked some of the quirky piano bits (30 minute mark). Very eclectic mix and I enjoyed all of it; the blippy techno, the final french-sounding tune and the Spanish? spoken word section around the 36 minute mark; was this an acapella?

Found a few of the transitions a little boring, the one at 24:30 being a good example - you've faded each track very carefully and to me it wasn't a particularly interesting blend as opposed to that which might have been produced with some more vicious EQing.

I think you overdid Borat a bit at the start, but it was layered with the actual music very well nonetheless.

I really appreciate the in depth review man, and glad you enjoyed some of it. I know i tend to try to make a lot of my transitions as smooth and as little dramatic as possible. I think often that 1 + 1 = 3 will be enough in regards to that, and maybe i play it a tad too safe. I play a lot of tracks and handling them all on time maybe takes up too much.

I EQ quite a bit, but I also admit it is more in the sense to keep frequencies cool and if there are more than 2 things going to stay clean and out of the red. I will try and see if i can't be a little more dramatic in the next one . I love constructive criticism so i'm really glad you took the time to share some d.

The Spanish vocal is an acapella, if you don't understand Spanish, he is just trying to pick up in a club. Oscar quoted the link to this release at the top of the page.

In a hilarious way, I might add. True latin lover/player style
