if he's already talked to the insurance company then it will make no difference if he goes through with a claim.....the accident has already been reported. Even if he reported the incident to the police then eventually the insurance company will find out. Some insurance companies have agreements with the police that the police reports will be sent to the insurance company once one of their insureds are identified as being involved in an accident.

Bad advice at this point, as he's already reported it to his insurance company. Personal automobile policies are priced based on a risk rating; meaning you are charged a premium per thousand dollars of insurance based on the level of risk you represent... risk meaning the probability that the insurer will have to respond to a claim made against your policy. The amount of money that the insurer pays on claims has no bearing on risk rating. Whether he withdraws his claim at this point or continues with it the effect on his insurance will be the same. Now, this could be good advice if his insurer was not already aware of the loss.... I say could because the decision of whether or not to claim for damages depends on a great many personal factors.

Re: Involved in a Car Accident--Anything I can Do?

Did you sustain any injuries as a result of this mishap? Any headaches or whiplash? I would've assumed no however you said it was on the highway therefore it is possible considering the speed you were most likely travelling at. If yes, then in addition to repairs, you may be entitled to treatment through your insurance company...just something to keep in mind.

You can also get paid to have someone clean your house and not to mention the psych issues you will have for the rest of your life....I don't think I would ever be able to drive at night again....I'd be too affraid of something being on the road. As an adjuster....I see so much potential with this.

Obviously, that's taking advantage of this situation...which isn't what I was referring to....however, if he sustained some injuries a simple PAF wouldn't be out of the question in my opinion.

Since the PAF came out...which personally I think is an absolute waste of time...I think I've had one claim that actually ended with the completion of the PAF.

that's cuz people are greedy and want more money than what a PAF pays out...even though that treatment plan would suffice.
