There's a ton of non-sensical babbling. And plenty of flashbacks. But very little plot OR character development.

I can't even remember the character's names! Nerdy-dude, The Chick, Blue guy, Evil Captain America, etc. You know who I *DO* remember? The Comedian! You know why? He's the ONLY character we know anything about! Good character development? The only character that's even semi-developed is the DEAD one!

Edit: Rorsatch is also done well. But I totally forgot about him, so case in point.

By the end of the movie we know almost NOTHING about the main antagonist (evil captain america, for the record), and apart from knowing that the nerdy dude is a nerd, and the chick wants the blue-dude's free-hanging shlong, we know NOTHING about the other characters either.

I hope to hell that this movie isn't totally faithful to the source, otherwise there's a whole helluva lot of people who like reading lots of words, but very little story.

Lol, and now this thread will pan out the way every other comic book to movie thread pans out. I don't want to be involved so I'll just say it now: you're all a bunch of fags.

Fight Club, LOTR, pretty much all of the Superman and Batman movies, Shawshank, Spiderman, Jurassic Park, the Godfather movies, Clockwork Orange - should I go on? - all of these were thoroughly enjoyable to readers and non-readers, and if you were a non-reader, they sometimes made you want to go read the book.

I haven't seen the movie yet - but these comments telling people to go read the book and then watch it again, actually make me want to see it less.

well the guy who wrote the comic hates the movie so add that to your logic

actually im pretty sure he hates people who read his comics too

for the "fags" - nerdy inside fag joke:

I went to see it last night without prepping myself by reading the original series. I had an idea of what it was all about, however, and a friend who is absolutely nuts about it, so off we went. I really liked it, actually. Perhaps this is because I really dislike comic book movies in general? But here we have a film based around exposing superheroes as cranks, weirdos, fetishists, egomaniacs, and sociopaths. Er, this wasn't lost on anyone I hope? The movie was very subtle... lots of details to pick up on. And I like that in a film.

Sometime later I'll read the "graphic novel" and see it again for perspective.

Incorrect about him not liking it though. He said David Hayter's screenplay was "as close as I could imagine anyone getting to Watchmen". He refuses to watch it because he doesn't think anything other than his comic would do it justice.

Zack Snyder worked closely with Alan Moore on this so theres no way Moore could say he "hates" the movie.

My boyfriend loves the watchmen so I decided to surprise him and go see the movie last night.
Not only was I totally bored with it, but so was he. He anxiously waited for the movie to end and at onepoint wanted to walk out.

It was far too boring and dragged on for way too long.

Next time I'll wait to hear the reviews of a movie I have no interest in before spending 15$ per ticket to watch on IMAX!
