You people are listening to some awful shitty simple music if you can tell after 20 seconds if track is good or not. No wonder why dance music sucks so much these days, it's not because of producers, it's because of you...

It really is quite easy to spot a badly produced track in 20 seconds.

We referred to the releases on beatport, and it's not exactly a big newsflash that 99% of the new releases are indeed "some awful shitty music".

I'm not really complaining though, I have plenty of great music to listen to.

Definitely. But it's not as easy to spot a superbly produced track in 20 seconds. If I judged all tracks by 20 seconds samples I wonder how many of them I'd now have on my favourite tracks list. Pretty much all of the tracks I like have lead-ins and lead-outs of different layers which make sense only when heard in its full glory or some kind of changes (rhythm, tempo, synth, structure) throughout them and in most cases those changes make a certain track stand out from the rest. I've listened to SAW earlier today, so here's one example: listen to THIS track from any point after 1:00 mark for 20 seconds and you'll hear nothing but a pleasant downtempo track with an intriguing atmosphere. Now listen to it in its entirety and you'll realize how much important stuff for the overall evaluation of the track is happening outside of any 20 second interval.

Depends on how you look at it. Perhaps it's possible to dismiss a track based on the Beatport sample because most tracks these days are little more than the Beatport sample + percussive intro/outro. And then again maybe music's only like that because people expect a track to do everything of note within a couple of minutes of listening time...

Tricky to blame any one party for these things if you ask me.

No, I just went to "new release" and it listed 405 tracks, and I listened to all of them.

I saw Markus a month ago and had an awesome time along with the entire club. You must be some sort of boring fagot.
