He made some mistakes of course... everyone does. But overall his job was to clean up the mess and make tough choices after the reign of Bob Rae and David Peterson. Unfortunately people dont like to be told the word "no" and he paid the price for it.

How is it that you and others like you can persist in believing that income tax cuts only benefit the "rich?" It's so far from the truth that it honestly makes me feel like I'm living in a 1984 clone.

Just do the math. The current provincial income tax rate in the lowest bracket is 6.05% on the first $36,848. If you make just $20,000, which is pretty fucking dirt poor if you ask me, then you've already paid $1210 in taxes. Please explain to me how collecting $1210 and giving back $1000 several months later actually benefits these people.

The median income in Ontario - that's median, not average - is above $60,000. That means over half of Ontarians make more than $60,000 before taxes. This clearly isn't just The Rich anymore, and it equates to about $4300 in income taxes. A 1.6% drop across the board, which would benefit everyone equally, or a 2.7% drop in the lowest bracket only, which would primarily benefit The Poor, would save every Ontarian $1000 per year, not one time.

Tax cuts benefit everybody. The reason they benefit The Rich "more" is because The Rich are paying more taxes, duh! How ridiculous economically is it to take the most productive members of society and absolutely hammer them for money, then refuse to do anything to ease the pain because it would "benefit" the people who are better off?

Man oh man, I've grown more or less accustomed to the de facto socialism that exists here in Canada but some of you guys seem to think we live in a magical fantasy land where food and money rain from the sky, houses grow out of the ground, and every place you'd ever want to go is within walking distance.

P.S. Walkerton? Come on, is that the best you can do, blaming Mike Harris for blatant incompetence at a municipal water supply because he cut their funding to the same level as every other municipality?

Unless you live in his riding, you didn't vote for him.

I'm glad to say that I voted against John Tory, the 'best Premier the province never had' after he tried to parachute into our riding.
