Ok 1st thing U all need to decide on is what area you want to hold it in, as it wants to be mainly UKTA involved, it will need to be central.

2nd: how many ppl u gonna cater for, decide and stick to that limit, that way u can then decide on the size of venue.

3rd: the sort of crowd u want to attract. Beer boys are not welcome as far as i am concerned and most local venues have more than their fair share of them, so for the 1st night U want it to be small, say 300 max, that way we and friends can go in cyber or whatever and not risk ridicule from the beer boys.

4th: U will require security, for 3 reasons, to limit the number, to stop any old drunken idiot invading and to keep the local police happy.

5th: U will need to find out local noise laws, some local authorites will fine u heavily if the noise limit is over their prescribed DB level.

6th: if u plan on selling alcohol, then U will not be allowd ppl under the age of 18 anywhere in the venue. (Bye coup )

I dont think Dj's are a prob as we already have many here who want to spin.
Equipment i suggest u hire with insurance then if worse comes to worse it's not YOUR equipment that gets fucked or nicked and U will have insurance to cover the hired gear if anything does go wrong.

Now i know a hell of a lot of venue owners / promoters in pretty much the whole of the UK, so when u have decided on the location I can prolly sort a venue but it may involve members of the public that they wish to have access as they may run it as a normal night for them.

wow this all seems like a great idea and me for one would chip in as much as i could to make it work and also be up for the djin at any slot its just a case of someone gettin of their arse and soin g someothing instead of just talkin about it, maybe we could even get neo to come and be the special guest dj.

I thought bouncers would come kinda with the price of the venue, and the same for like equipment. Also most places take any money made through alcohol. So if we had it on a monday night, or thursday or sometime it is quiet, then they would b happy to have it.

I could book a venue 2moro for just us for 120 quid in aylesbury, max capacity of 300, and equipement comes in that price, and bouncers. Coz they normally have nobody in there, so they take the beer money from that night.

But you dont want it in aylesbury.

So Neo use yr contacts in sheffield and get us the republic, hehe. No let us know what you can do mate
