I listen to everything. Even country, even gregorian chant. I'm not a ****** fan boy nor do I think music is anything special. It's something to listen and dance to.

also, lol @ alt. You are a newbie, huh?

I guess I am, I don't recognize your screen name. Not cool enough lol

Anyways, sure Biggie or Tribe Called Quest or Wu Tang Clan or any of those guys are great and all, but after a while all their stuff gets boring listening to a billion times over. You can't hang on classics for the rest of your life if you enjoy the genre, sometimes hip hop fans want to hear new stuff that is good being produced, and the likes of Soulja Boy and Eminem aren't exactly doing it. That was my point.

I just feel sorry for soulja boy and anyone else who likes/follows this music, for they don't realize how much they suck.

I guess it's time for you to show them who's boss and release your own rap album.

i just had this discussion earlier in the week.

now bare with me because this is a stretch. but doesn't it seem like hip-hop/pop/rap (whatever you want to call this) is slowly sliding into the direction of electronic music with focus on production and not so much on the lyrics. the lyrics are basically just another layer and are repetitive as all hell.

i've even seen club DJs loop a popular track (even this Soulja Boy) without the lyrics and play it for an entire minute without anyone noticing.

now granted the production value of hip hop is not appealing to me or very many people who listen to EDM. but i think the average club goer are slowly being co-axed by labels and DJs to like this type of stuff.

Isn't it "southern rap" the rap where catchy production takes priority over lyrics. That's how we get the "stanky leg" and "ice cream paint job"...
