I got back from the surgery
Everything went very smoothly, they numbed my eyes, taped my eyelids down so that I couldn't blink, then they had me look at a blinking red light the entire time. they marked where my cornea flap needed to be lifted, and they lifted it up. I literally couldn't see shit except the distant red light and the silhouettes of the doctors. the laser lasted about 20 seconds, then the flap was put back on. Both eyes were very painless to do, and they used absolute state of the art equipment. It was very quick and easy. I took a cat nap while my mother went to a doctors appointment, and when I woke up, I could read street signs with no problem.
I have 4 different kinds of eye drops to take on a scheduled basis, by tomorrow my discomfort in the eyes should be gone, but I still need to take the drops.
The whole thing was about $4300, including the lifetime insurance on them. Hopefully by tomorrow I can reap the full benefits of it. At the moment, I'm wearing my sunglasses and about to crawl back in bed. Anyone who is considering LASIK should absolutely take the plunge, just take it from me. Absolutely incredible difference. |
Congrats! Welcome to the club.
