Well, I can't Automate Battery 3 in FL Dunno why, Battery 2 would automate fine iirc and its a VSTi not DXi, DXi can't be automated anyways. Which is a bigger problem than before. I can still use all the samples however. And I can use battery for making dnb, as I rarely if ever automate individual samples when I do DnB.

maybe FL doesn't support VSTis with multiple outputs?

My understanding in this case is track = song. But apparently I missed something. Would track correspond to say how many instances of z3ta I can run? Or how many generators you have? If that is the case, fl doesn't have a limit. I can check.

LOL, how can you talk so much trash about Cubase, Logic, and Ableton Live without even understanding the most basic concepts about how they work? Or really how sequencing in general works?

Same reason I know Ameircan cars are shit compared to Japanese, despite the fact that I hardly know about automobiles. Its in the reputation and what the people say. [and the fact that toyota is the 5th riches comapny in the world and the most successful auto company]

I know how it [sequencing] works, I didn't know [actually, you didn't know, your post was referring to something completely different than what we were talking about, but we will say it was me, for the sake of argument] a piece of terminology. There is a difference.

BTW, Where is this trash talking everyone seems to mention? Do you mean pointing out the flaws in other DAWs is trash talking? If that is the case, then sure, but be warned, your interpretation is wrong.

Please, My Intelligence decimates this place.

Look at my Simplify This? thread...I post a very simple problem, but because I'm not asking "how to be like daedmau5" or some other nooby bullshit, No one is able to answer. Its a level 1 problem. And no one can answer. Its pitiful, At nearly any other music site the people would have been at such a level as to answer it. However here, you have a bunch of people delusional to such a point that they think they are something, despite the fact that the people on this site have about as much relevance and intelligence as your typical undecided voter who only wants to hear about terrorists and global warming. Progress cannot be made in such a state.

Oh good lord, I thought we'd actually make it four pages without this happening again.

You would rather us not talk about problems and just assume nothing is wrong with anyone?

Well I think the "trash" talking mentioned refers to previous threads and was the impression given when you were discussing the advantages of FL.

In fairness, what Diginut is getting at is that you are going to have trouble convincing people you know the subject matter (of sequencers) when you are questioning basic terminology such as (i.e. "track = song" or "every synth I've ever used only has one insert"). You wouldn't ask those things if you knew etc.

on topic, I think the specific problem to your question is that FL does not allow multiple outputs, which basically means a huge part of battery is unused.

One thing I'm confused about is that you're saying you can run an unlimited amount of softsynths but you only have 64 tracks max - mulitple softsynths on one track?

i don't know about battery but you can use multiple outputs with FL studio, just check the "enable multiple outputs" on the FL wrapper(battery channel)
and if battery allow that, you can move the knob you want to automate and go to the wrapper and click "create automation clip"
and btw you can use all mixer channels as send,buss,...

I didn't ask about those things you mentioned. In my expriense, using software, we always refered to tracks as songs. Not as inserts. I never learned how to do things and use terminology "the hardware way" because its deprecated.

I looked in battery 3 and there is no options refering to "multiple outputs"

There are 64 inserts yes, and yes you can have as many channels as you want, so eventually you will have more synths than inserts.
