So you're telling me, you're in a car and some guy puts on the best album you ever heard, then you see a horrid cover and you never listen to that album again? Please man, please. Some of you people need to get of your high chairs.

Honestly, every cover is different. Following EDM as long as you have, you know alot of vinyl/CD's just have the basic logo of the label which varies through color and slight design changes. Sometimes its completely out of the artists hands, but the music is not, they are 100% liable for.

I agree with Spaniard here. Even though I think the cover of this album is crap I am not affected by it as long as the music is good.

Some of the early 90s trance CDs have horrible shitty early 90s computer generated graphics. But still the CDs are kickass.

Here's one example from a CD I bought back in 1998:
http://www.discogs.com/Various-Ethn.../release/246345

The photoshopping is hilarious. You can so easily see that the elephant is chopped.
But man look at the tracklist. Still one of my favourite CDs till this day.

I'm pretty sure that isn't what he's telling you.

You think it's crap, thus you must be affected by it. No said the cover clouds our judgement of the music, like this clown above is trying to imply. We're simply saying that the cover is a part of the product, that it has the potential to be art and that one can have an opinion about it.

yes of course. people still discuss the cover art for Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club band. Good cover arts also became intimately connected with the music and the producer. Not maybe immediately after the release but later on.

Ofcourse it's a part of the package, I never said it wasn't. The implication that Mr.Mystery gave ("All aspects should be equally good", as quoted on the previous page) tells me that he will not listen to a CD if the cover is not to his liking. I'll give him a chance to clarify if he wants, but I'm just commenting on what I interpreted from the post.

Anyways, I think this is a stupid discussion and we should be getting back to the music.

My God, that's just...

My God.

But people, let's be realistic. Not everyone can be Ultimae.

Bad photoshopping is the least of that cover's problems.

yes and also what are the rain forest parrots doing there?
seems like the artists was told that the compilation was called "Ethno Dance" so he went on to just bomb it with everything that would seem "ethno", yeah lets have an aboriginee with a didgeridoo and why not an elephant and some cool exotical birds. LOL

No, that is where you end. Not everyone is as apathetic as you are.

oh please, don't make more of it than it is ... a nice cover is a good bonus, something I would prefer, but for me the music still remains the most important aspect of a release.
