The NSX and S2000 were unfortunate losses, sure, but I doubt they were very high on the chopping block line when it came to phasing out less eco friendly vehicles in favor of hybrids, as the S2000 was in the lower-higher end of the 'good' emissions spectrum, and with the NSX hardly being something in sufficient circulation to warrant discontinuing in light of the aforementioned green spirit.
I'm not sure what you're getting at with the Miata, as we all know it simply phased into the far, far more respectable MX-5, which is still in production (not that a name like 'Miata' doesn't connote intense automotive enthusiasm, or anything).
Can't say I was terribly upset about the 240 being discontinued in the US, as if history is any guide, the US would have continued to get shafted with more lifeless KA24 relatives right up until 2002.
