to be fair, an associates of arts & sciences is exactly the same as taking the first two years of your bachelor's degree- same class requirements, same tuition, etc. so someone who does so isn't really getting "handed" anything. and again, the associate's degree by itself really does nothing for pursuing a career, unless the job requirements literally state "must have 2 year degree or better" or something like that.

I'm so glad Canada doesn't work like that, lol.

Ya thanks. I just decided one day after smoking a fat blunt that it was time to move on. But quitting is easier said than done after 4 years of daily morning-to-night smoke outs. Plus the E, acid, shrooms, scripts, coke I've done. It was just best I went into a detox program for drug addiction. I'v tried to quit before, but the anxiety was too much to bear. For the last 4 weeks, I have been going 3 times a week, for acupuncture, massage, and spinal adjustment. Add to that, some heavy duty supplements (90% metabolic absorption), and I feel better than ever! Much healthier, better mood, and I'm told, my demeanor exudes far more confidence than before ("You stand taller!"). My body is detoxified and I can definitely feel the difference. You don't know how deficient your body is in nutrients until you eat right and take a really high quality supplement(s). I was chronically depressed and that stuff brought me out of it. Plus, it's better than Viagra!!

No way I could go into finance and be all drugged out 24/7.

Yukii did break up with me because of my drug use, and I guess that's when I hit rock bottom and decided, I'm done with this shit. Best decision I ever made. I got my girl back!

Nice one man, I honestly had no idea. Way to sort your priorties out

i suppose. i mean, there should obviously be a differentiation between people who intend to get a 2 year degree and people who just happened to drop out after 2 years. but then again, why go to school for 4 years if your intended field only requires 2? self-improvement aside, of course.

fo real. my best friend smoked like that for years too... he said when he finally stopped and the fog in his brain lifted, he couldn't believe how much more shit he started to remember on a daily basis... like, simple conversations and being able to retrace the steps of his day.

What's with all the hate for Associate's Degrees? Someone could be a very successful secretary with that.

It's the principle, really. I mean why bother with that at all? Up here you either choose community college and get a diploma after 3 years in something more practical, or university and get a degree after 4 years and do something more academic. Pretty simple.

i see what you mean, but i think 2 year community college degrees are useful for some people in certain situations- even if it is just for personal growth. mine, for example, was used as part of a guaranteed transfer program to any university in wisconsin, so i guess it depends on the application.
