This bike licensing stuff will never fly. What this city needs is more bike lanes, more cyclist-friendly initiatives. Devoting the metropolis to automobiles is not a sustainable option.

Still waiting on that bike highway from the Junction to the core.

What we need are more subways. Most people will never ride a bike in winter. Once we wrap our heads around that fact we will actually succeed in fixing this broken city.

Agreed

I'm surprised there are people other than those at city council that think further choking drivers is the solution to our transit problems.

I'm always amused at pedestrians and cyclists who think they have a god-given right to cause thousands of dollars in property damage because somebody pissed them off.

Just wait until the day one of them calls the police - or better yet, the day you find out that one of them keeps a baseball bat in the trunk, or a handgun in the glove box.

Knives under the driver's seat are fairly common.

what a waste, i'm actually really against that.

Drivers and cyclist should learn to co-exist on the same road, separating them only make drivers (and to a lesser extent cyclist) ignore the rest of the traffic, creating a hasard. Or worst pedestrians walking in them, or crossing them without looking on both sides (its not a street per se, so they don't have the same reflexes).

Whats worst, is that our city has built some reserved cycling lanes, and you still see cyclist still driving on the same street and not using them

at least montreal understands one way streets and how to use them. Toronto uses one way streets to impede traffic.

Most major downtown roads should be one way and then MAYBE a bike lane would fit in

Look at this brain washed bozo, and why aren't cars sustainable??? It's been like that for a 100 years, and it will stay the same until we discover teleportation or something as ubiquitous as the car. Don't give me the crap about depleted oil, because cars will still run on other forms of energy, it's already happening.

not really, a well thought cyclist lane would have been on the ride side of the road, not the left. Bikes are always supposed to run on the right side, even if it's a one way street, putting a lane on the left is inciting cyclists to behave wrongly elsehwere. And for this particular bike lane, most traffic turns left. So Traffic is slown down considerably because the bike lane has priority
