I eagerly await your comments Especially considering there are no African chants or conga drums in this mix

Look forward to reading your comments. By the way, I am sorry for bumping this thread again, but I wanted to leave you with some feedback re: you last mix as I think it would take me some time to find the thread.

I listened to it today (actually to be honest, there's like 2 minutes left and it's about to be done) but I honestly enjoyed this. Some familiar tracks in there but that never hurts. You had a very cool disco groove throughout which I enjoyed. Some great tracks and the mixing was really smooth. One transition that stood out to me was around the 27 minute mark, and that felt slightly rushed IMO. It wasn't disturbing by any means, but I guess it wasn't as smooth as the other transitions.

The only thing I would have done if this were my mix, is maybe throw a couple of tracks before Droplets. Just something a little slower, a little mellower, to get things started. I mean Droplets is by no means a peak time track (I wouldn't think so) but it would have been nice to maybe have a couple of tracks before it which would have helped develop the overall flow a little better.

Anyway that's what I though. Good job overall.

here comes the review from the conga man aka Juan Pachanga Junior

It's fun to see that you move from two different marked styles (techno and deep house ), I can't decide which one of them suits you best . but i can say that you play both of them splendidly.

I enjoyed this mix very much. Even though it is deep house i felt that you were on the touching edge of playing progressive house on some ocassions.

I really liked how you started , this mix is what i've being listening to the last couple days when I was working out , the start was floaty with a touch of melancholy that builts up until you hit a nerve when you drop "tornike - No negatives " I fucking love that track dude and i got all emotional and shit on how it was perfectly dropped I don't know man is probably one of the reasons I stopped listening to this sort of music . Nothing bad about it mate I just dont want to shed a tear while I'm working out

I like how you mix by the way , i didnt know that you use hot keys to mix, which is cool because it reminded me that when I first started out I was just mixing on my keyboard . it was fun ... it feels like you are typing the music. and yeah I used a lot the kill buttons and the crossfader at 100 x sec

Bodka Spiritual is a sick track , that clarinet is so perfect.

And then you dropped _ Evren ulusoy - vessel , what a gem mate , I went right into my beatport acount and bought it. amazing track it has the elements that I'm always looking for in music.

Maybe So far I would have added a little bit more vocals to it . I dunno i just think that for this sort of music vocals have a big role .

From then on the rest of the mix Imo went pretty steady till the last 20 of it I think the last 20 minutes where not necesary , what i mean is that it pretty much sounds the same so basically it doesnt add anything to the mix .

great job bro , I hope you keep doing more mixes like this one .

Hey thanks for the feedback Haziel. I'm glad that you enjoyed this mix, I've gotten some very nice
feedback on it from a couple of other sources so I think I did pretty well with it. I do of course have
my regrets, but I think that will (almost) always be the case after recording a mix. I am somewhat
surprised you feel I should have neglected the last bit. I do see where you are coming from, but I
thought that the last three tracks are all really nice and as such that I should include them in the
mix. I figured by placing them there, I'd be bringing things down a bit. I suppose though, that this
is a general problem when making mixes (IDK about other people though) in that I often let the
tracks themselves dictate how the mix will pan out. For example in this particular case, I had
purchased a lot of new music beforehand, and although I only ended up including about 60% of
it in this mix, there were a few tracks I felt must be included, and such was the case with the
last three.

As for the hotkey thing, tbh, although I won't be doing that for much longer, I think using a keyboard
for certain functions is no different at all from using a midi controller. All that's different is the shape,
the buttons etc...but you get the same results. Obviously a keyboard doesn't have knobs and
faders which is why ultimately I am (or anyone else) would upgrade.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this one. Fuck, this was smooth Adam. So many deep, lush melodies in here. Makes me a little sad summer is ending.

You paced it pretty well and there were never any moments where it seemed to drone on, even though it was a bit on the longer side. I'll agree that there were a couple transitions that were a little sudden/jarring, but nothing mix-ruining. I don't listen to a lot of stuff like this but I enjoyed it, keep it up man.

Also...just curious, what software did you use for this?

I'm listening to this again. I really like the track at the 62 minute mark. The build-up to get here is great though - I didn't mention that in my first post. I always find hi-hats a nice way to gauge the intensity of a track, and the first tracks are relatively light-on in this respect, while after the first hour things get positively jackin'.
