why are you assuming that it's the promoter or FW who is only "giving" him a 2 hour slot?
did it ever occur to you that it might be the DJ and/or his people who stipulated or agreed to a 2-hour slot for a their fee? or perhaps charge significantly more for a longer one? or don't even want to do a longer one in the first place?
not all DJs are happy to spin for as long as you want and not without more $$$ (want cover to be $25-30 instead? if so, then it's a valid request).
make no mistake...I do share your feelings on short sets though. While I generally don't want to hear 5-6+ hours of anyone not named Danny Teneglia, a mere 2 hours is a bit weak. IIRC, we only got ~2 hours (if that) of Plump DJs at TIL last week when 3+ would have been nice for such established guys who don't exactly get booked all the time either (first time in 10yrs, AFAIK...?).
back on track! roll call...I'm a 'maybe' at this point, though I'd love to catch him. The 'Make it Funky' party in the lounge at Circa the following night is mighty tempting though...
