Eh everyone evolves. If Tiesto stayed to his late 90's/early 00's sounds alot of people would bitch about how he has not "evolved" his sound. Its fickle and when you can pack arenas to listen to the music you DJ then yes you are going to be "commercial" because the people buying your music want that "sound".

I still respect Tiesto besides all the trash talk on the guy. Hell he DJ'd the Olympic opening ceremony. That's big no matter how you slice it.

Ill just say that alot of the older heads tend to hate the newer music because there wasnt so much to sift through and people had to worry about quality because quality is what got you recognition. Its all a game of whats pleasing to the listeners ear

I just interviewed Tiesto and he provides insight as to why he changed his style. You can read it here:

tiesto hate is damn old. he's in the limelight, and his fan base is significantly different than what it was when he was in the 90's-early 00's. there are so many talented dj's/producers out there that there is no point in giving the guy so much shit, he's a pop-star dj, that won't change. i doubt he'd want to shift from making large amounts of money to frolicking with candy ravers to the nearest abandoned warehouse to play records only his inner circle of 10 underground producers make. this inner circle of friends refuse to show their faces in myspace profiles, instead, they take promotional snap-shots of ashtrays, socks, sitting cross-legged on their beds with their faces cropped out and a copy of a limited 50 press vinyl sitting at their bedside

"Just Be" album IS "Tiesto's Style"...Actually Tiesto loosed this particular touch in his music.

"New" Tiesto is the same crap as Guetta or Benassi or so many poor guys like them who are making "music" only for this fucking money...I just hate them and Tiesto became the same.

I hope his new album won't sale that much. I guess he already read comments on the web about "Kaleidoscope" album.

this!
