Actually came across two really big snakes last weekend near a friends place that lives near the scrub, collecting fire wood when we turned up this track and there was a carpet snake across the whole track, would have been well over two meters and looked like it had just had a big feed on something as it was only moving slowly and wasn't bothered by our car.
Then later we were riding pitties up and down his road in the dark when I could see a black line over the gravel. Kinda looked like a big long stick. Got about a meter away from it and put the torch on it to see it was a big red belly black. It's riddled with snakes around there though.
