$100 for Sony MDR500 (better than the 700's)
And still... a package deal from Metro Sound would've saved your ass a lot of cash. |
sorry, the mdr-v500's aren't better than the v700's, which aren't very good either. Don't believe me, ask Gluegun. He's the headphone expert around here. Do you work for metro sound or something? lol... last time i checked, (december) they were selling that vestax mixer for $640 or something...

There's a reason why Technics 1200 and 1210's are industry standard. It's because they're built to last, they have high-torque motors, and they're bullit-proof. |
everyone knows the technics' qualifications. Those stantons however, aren't as POS as you think. In fact, Ministry of Sound has replaced their technics with Stanton ST-100's. They do have more features, and the specifications do stand up. If they're as reliable and durable as technics, it has yet to be determined.

You could've given me the money and let me run... it would've done you better. Seriously, tho. The mixer is nice. Better for techno and hardcore, but after you master beatmatching and shit, that mixer will let you pull off some nice technical mixes. |
Hey hey, no need to be calling names now. Don't get all worked up because he has a job and money to spend. It's his money after all.
| quote: | anyhow... back to the tables:
First of all, the torque on stanton's is weaker than low-end gemini's.
Second they have the straight tonearm's which are good for scratching, but regular play they're ass, and pointless if you're going to spin trance. |
again, you're probably getting the 100's confused with the 80's or 60's. Stanton has put out a competitor to the 1200 with its str8-100 and st-100. similiar to the vestax decks and the numark ttx-1 or whatever.
| quote: | | My suggestion would be, is you call the place up you bought the equipment from and tell them it's not what you want and ship it back, and get a refund. However, you don't need to waste another $400 on UPS shipping. |
uhm, that would just cost more money. Thats a silly suggestion. He has the equipment, and he's happy with it. REmember, his money... not yours...
the only reason I got involved in this anyways, because I felt I had to stand up for him from you calling him and idiot and whatnot. I don't think its neccessary to be calling him names, especially when I don't see anything wrong with what he did. :P Although he should've been warned about the brokerage fees. Everyone learns.
BTW, there is the DJ Booth forum on this board, with tons of experienced DJ's who can give you advice on equipment and stuff. These guys are really helpful.
