lol I actually started typing the exact translation then thought youd just assume it was googled.
But I learned that in gradeschool when I did a project on transmitting soundwaves through light (laser).

Im pretty sure its Light Amplification by Stimulated Emisson of Radiation.
But I have no idea what radar stands for lol

I used to have a book about crystals and gems when I was in elementary school -- my dad is a geologist so naturally he wanted me to be interested in rocks, which I was and still am to some extent. The book talked about how rubies were used in lasers, and also said what "laser" stood for, so that was how I learned it.

I am starting to use Ableton Rewired into Cubase but all major primary work, ie the mix etc is still performed in Cubase.

3 daws

its all personal taste... my advice for anyone starting is get a pc and get a copy of a couple of daws and see which one suits you. This is my personal opinion but logic ans cubase are not for the newbie... they are amazing daws when you know what u want to achieve.... reason and ableton are probaly what i would recommend to start of with.
I started with reason until i could structure a tune and get it to work then i moved to cubase and its cool and all but it more a mixdown DAW for me....im now working in ableton and for me having a mixture of creativeness and having better automation layout and control has helped me make a huge leap forward musical. My next step will probably be LOGIC cau the automation in that DAW is sick.....

when you start to get ure head around structure and have got to a point were you know this music business is for you.... BUY A MAC...

Why is is it that everyone that works for apple is complete retarded. It isn't just you. Go to any store and ask someone what the fsb is for the desktop and they will tell you that all the ipods have the fastest fsb on the market. I like their desktop but god damn does every single other product and person suck balls.

Quick answer. Yes. Just look at that genius bar girl...

This was a secret single frame embedded in the original TV commercial:

Hows this working for you? I'm considering roughly this approach, I use FL Studio but I'm tiring of the delay compensation issues with my hardware synth. Was thinking of writing the H/W synth midi with ableton, doing other midi work in FL then importing to Ableton to mix / master the whole thing. Sounds a bit of a mess around maybe??
