Maybe it's becuase trance wasn't my gateway into EDM that I don't find it disgusting. I was really into house before I even knew the term trance. Even then, Goa was the first kind of trance I heard. I like trance from the early and mid-90's just as much the next guy, I'm definitely not ignorant to what's out there. That being said, I still like modern trance. I haven't heard much trance after 2008 but if the few songs I've heard are a good representation of 2009, it can't be that bad.

Just thought I would clear that up.

it's means that's where the sarcams ends. it's a play on coding and stuff where you would use a / to close a tag.

when will you guys ever stop giving a shit about these damn cock cobblers? shit on my fucking forehead. of all the supposed intelligent people on this forum you'd think music discussion would be a bit more interesting

christ, we already know who likes armin and who doesn't. same shit, recycled over and over again. this guy making a laughing face, saying the same shit, ", what a fuckin' joker LOLOL" and then this guy doing a rollie eyes smily saying "lol, i'll listen to whatever i want, i still like trance, you are fairly wrong about the philosophy of trance, it has gotten better since the 90's "

holy shit this is almost as bad as landover baptist forums

Well said.

Did Vascotia write this or is he simply quoting Kambo from t.nu or are they the same person?

There's quite a bit of misinformation in what you've written and I'll explain.

Before you see this as me jumping in to his "rescue", do consider the following, especially coming from someone who has seen his share of support from Armin.

Armin plays what he likes, PERIOD. With that said, there are plenty tracks of mine that Armin did not play... why? Because it simply wasn't to his liking. There's no politics there. If we went by what you've written then Armin would play every single thing I ever produced "because he only plays tracks by people he likes".

The guy gets a stupendous amount of records sent to him every single day. I honestly don't even know how he even picks anything, I'd just shrug it all off. He's human and sometimes he misses a track here or there, could you really blame him given his schedule?

Can you please tell him to look into DJ Vincent (Bobby West Virginia). This man is the GOD OF TRANCE for years to come.
P.S. Profit. I guarantee

edit: sorry for the multiple ninja edits

Wrong. Armin plays what will pay him. He's a salesmen, not a DJ.

I think Armin just plays what he believes his fans will like:
quote:
Your live sets and ASOT radio show has grown so diverse, all the genres of EDM can be found from minimal to house, why has this evolution occurred?

Armin van Buuren: I DJ for the crowd, not for myself, if it was for me the music would be real ambient, weird sounding. These track lists are for the crowd.

http://www.trancesound.net/diversht...van_buuren.html

I think it would be interesting to know what the big DJs listen to when they're just relaxing and not concentrating on production or DJing or signing new artists to their label or anything like that. Armin said he likes "ambient and weird" stuff, I wonder what artists he listens to in his free time. :-)

Hmmm, I think that he at least loves half the tracks he plays. But I'm sure for ASOT he doesn't like all tracks. They get selected for him, but probalby by people close to him. I read the interview before and wondered if he meant Ambient as genre. He also mentions he played PvD New York City just because he loves the track.
During ASOT he mentioned something like "This is how we like trance", but it could be he never uses that track in a set for the reasons he mentions in that interview.

Don't think the top DJ's have a lot of free time. Maybe they listen in the airplane a lot and just listen Top40 stuff like most people.
