Once you've reached a certain level of specialization you can generally create a working environment for yourself that allows you to actually do your best work (for a lot of people that's consulting). But that's really another conversation entirely.

No. Those companies may be required to employ some sort of "quality" system like Six Sigma or S-OX, but for the companies that know what they're doing it's nothing more than window-dressing. That's actually how I've made a few of my better investment decisions.
