All the problems start with the whale lovers being there for no other reason then to stop a perfectly legal killing of whales.

Once again...if they want to stop the killing then they need to find a way to close the loop hole...not waste money doing these useless and illegal acts.

Clearly it isnt perfectly legal if they use a loophole.

its perfectly legal to kill them for research and the loop hole is there is no law saying they can't sell the meat. They either need to make it illegal to sell the meat or change the laws that allow the research to be completed.

It's illegal to hunt whales in protected waters of another country, yet they continue to do it. In fact if Western countries weren't such pussies with diplomacy, someone would have already sent a naval ship to bombard them out of the water.

Nobody buys into the "research" spiel. Nobody.

Except that pretty much no one recognises anyone else's claim to Antarctic waters. If Antactic waters were recognised then it would be extremely easy to order them out, and it wouldn't be a diplomatic problem to do so.

These aren't Australia's territorial waters, so sending in the Navy would be highly highly illegal.

Changing the law isn't that easy, and while I could be wrong I believe that in order to first change the laws on whaling a majority of the members in the IWC have to agree, which itself is a problem since Japan bribes smaller countries to vote with them

it doesn't matter if anybody buys into it....they found a loop hole and they are taking advantage of it....nothing wrong or illegal about that.

it may not be easy but what the Sea Sheppard and other whale huggers are doing is going to have zero affect....it will not stop the hunting. If they put more time, money and effort into trying to change the laws there is a better chance they will stop the killings.

If I was an Inuit I would be out there with my club and smashing baby seal brains all over the place.

I gotta ask, what makes you support the japanese? Is it just the fact they found a legal loophole and legally it is sound for them to do what they are doing?

yes...Like I said...I may not agree with it but they do have a legal right to do it.
