this week's favourite is referring to the devaluation of media as the 2nd most significant disaster of the decade, behind 9/11. lol! exaggerate much?

ROFL

you certainly must not pay attention to what i write. Im always for full disclosure and im always for educating the public when it comes to making choices for themselves. What i am against is forcing them to make a choice. For example I am for a law that states that all cars must have seatbelts. I am against a law that says you (adults) must wear them or face a fine. This allows you to make a choice.

As for food... label clearly that it has transfats, but dont ban transfats. Let people decide for themselves.

If beef has ammonia in it then tell people and present the facts as they may be. In this case you have a sensationalist media story that is one sided complaining about a one sided USDA. Id like to know the facts about ammonia and why its considered safe. This type of story presented here is no different than the fear mongering involving such things as swine flu etc.

A random food thought: when are we going to get one of those steakhouses where you get to select your cattle & have it butchered on the spot? Like on The Simpsons. Now that's a proper way to over see the post slaughter processing of beef!!!

LOL!

Do you really not realized the negative impact which the media has had on us in the last decade????

The hard core spread of fear from terrorism to the damn flu????

What do you think are the worst man made disasters to hit us in the last decade

between the sclock that passes as news to try to attract eyeballs and the fact that artists are starting to starve thanks to pirating, the media situation and how its impacting society is very very negative right now and its changing our society in ways we cannot even fully comprehend. I hope it all evens out sooner than later. Lets see what happens.

Vdub is absolutely right. What passes for news today would have been considered yellow journalism a generation ago.

he was referring to the devaluation of media...not the effect media has on us.

how about the recession, sub-prime crises, etc...which resulted in hundreds of thousands of people (or more?) losing their jobs and/or homes and/or savings and which resulted in our gov'ts plunging into further debt to combat it?

perhaps the est. 300k (some estimates go up to a million) who were directly impacted by the Indian Ocean tsunami?

how about the various conflicts around the world in term of loss of life, displacement, and actual monetary cost?

do you honestly think that our devaluation of media is remotely on par with those few examples that I came up with on a few minutes thought?

devaluation is also rather subjective and ignores the emergence of new opportunities in the realm of media.

Bourbon will shorten a man's vocabulary to ensure that just the essential words make it through the blurred thoughts & generally obscenity-laden tirades. You should see the text messages people receive from me. lol.
