Jack, I'm also guilty of harbouring these for a while and not commenting.

In Part 1 I noticed a difference in styles between the first and second half of the mix, but with Part 2 having more of a blend.

I think 'The Antikythera Mechanism' was as great an end to Part 1 as 'Sacred Plants' was as a beginning for Part 2, great choices.

I'm not a technical person but think you chose some great tracks to span such a wide period of time, and non-obvious or more interesting remixes (Scared Cycles, Into Nothing, The Baguio Track) and the mixes are all the better for it.

Heard disc 1, last night, and listening to disc 2, now. Really digging the continuum followed to this point. First disc being so divergent from having a drive, but with very crisp percussion that, while rhythmic, seemed to float in the ether.

The sonic signature has a much more defined feel to it, opposing the Epic House Trilogy. Even throughout the multitude of styles, this dual set maintains the same sonic characteristic which, while quite listenable, borders on a clinical accuracy that I wouldn't associate with the Trilogy work.

Mixing is spot on. Really, the next time I try DJ'ing, I'm making this work a part of my ideal benchmark. A lot of times it's sneaky with very nominal artifact. It allows for me to kind of focus on the melding of architecture between any two of the compositions, for the most part - and that's if I can spot one train from another. It's fun listening to a lot of seeming risk-taking.

The track selection seems to be very cerebral, throughout both discs. It's not afraid to move from one space, into another. It does this without losing the integrity of the whole and creates a very divergent, yet almost seamless experience.

Thanks for putting this up and it is happily added to my collection.

...Joking aside, thanks for the in-depth feedback. This is definitely where I'm going in terms of mixing and track selection. I'm no longer interested in just doing a genre set, I'm more interested in maintaining a distinct "sonic signature", as you put it, across different styles, tempos and so on.

The mixing on the first side is really simple in technical terms. There are only about four beatmatched transitions in that first half, and even the transition between Sundial Aeon and Asura is just fader work. Close attention to harmony and cueing can give you these really good results.
