Actually, Jay I've been cutting down heavily on my meds, only take beta blockers regularly, some abdomen pain pills, the occasional anxiety med, and sleeping pills once in a while. Nope, I'm afraid my concentration-camp like BMI is all natural.

wasn't trying to insult you by the comment, many prescription meds do have effects on metabolism. Some components of certain anti depressants are even used in diet meds.

Or so used to seeing overweight people everywhere that their standards for what is 'healthy-looking' have changed. This is now a recognised phenomenon.

Hmmm, good points. Both of those examples relate specifically to schooling however.

A major root of the problem is parents don't parent, they give their child every thing they want. The school is often forced to deal with the effects of lack of parenting. Children aren't used to hearing the word "NO". One manifestation is the prevalence of junk food and sugar in their diet. Like I explained before sugar not only effects the child who ingesting it, their hyperactive behavior is disruptive in the classroom for others trying to learn. Once you stop thinking about only you and your child you'll be able to understand that schools are a community.
