Whether they were producers first is completely incidental to that rambling bullshit you justified yourself with. Your reasoning was: "In a mix there is less artistic context to deconstruct, and less fully controlled artistic expression to digest...in comparison to an album." In other words, the DJ's task is less artistic than a producer's, and so criticism is more justified.

None of your complaints about producers-turned-DJs (their selection sucks, they just license their buddies) alter your basic dismissal of DJing as an artistic pursuit. Are you serious? I dont "empathise" with any side, I started DJn and making mixes around the same time I started producing, actually to be more accurate, I started making mix CDs and mix Tapes well before I started producing. I was one of those kids that recorded shit I loved off the radio onto cassette tapes and made my own mixtapes, because I did not want to wait for the songs I wanted to listen to come on the radio, and I was too poor and too young to have a job to support buying casette singles and CDs.

That aside, im as a big a fan of DJs as I am of Producers, me making music has nothing to do with "emphathise" with Producers lol. Like I said, if you did not have reading problems, you would note the context of what my observation is based off of, the examples supporting my observation etc.

And dude, if your so sure I cant DJ (since its rocket science to you), we should have a mix competition. Make a massive "im gonna pwn Kismet7 @ Djnnnz", invite all your friends
