I know ^^. This isn't the first time I've been hazed and it's to be expected. It also lets me gauge whether or not I like the community.

And does Ania have handcuffs that she would be willing to use? I'm single again...oh and they don't HAVE to be fuzzy, but fuzzy and pink are definitely a bonus.

Alright, enough shenanigans and spamming from me for now heh.

I will hopefully bring myself to post my "almost completed track" in the Producer's forum sometime, as learning, improving my own music and getting input is why I've come to these forums. So hopefully I can expect to achieve that.

Not sure when that will be though, as taking that particular step is probably going to be hard. For me, having my work critically reviewed for the first time by knowledgeable(?) strangers is gonna be a rough, but necessary experience that I'm not entirely used to yet.

I'll have a lurk through that forum section as well, so I can get an idea on what to expect in terms of criticism etc... etc... (As I'm sure you guys *try* to refrain from trolling eachother's work )

Hello guys, I'm new around here and wanted to say hi. I wasn't sure which forum section would be best to post for the first time so I figured that here was the safest bet.

My back-story and why I'm here : I've always loved to make music and I started my dabbling a long time ago on FL Studio 3. I started with remixing old game midi's and moved into trying to actually make music of my own. Unfortunately I had to take a break from this newfound music hobby, as life took it's course. Now I've decided that I really want to take up trance production seriously and stick with it.

So here I am, taking the next logical step. I figured it was a good idea to start getting into the trance community and seeing what I could learn / contribute.

A little about myself : I'm 23, currently a student in Mechanical Engineering at Metro State of Denver.

Music background : I've played the Cello since I was 10 and had private lessons until I was 21. My music theory background is zilch, but I have (in my humble opinion ^^) a good enough set of ears, natural feel for music and the love of trance. My inspirations are numerous but Ronald Jenkees, Armin Van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk are among a few.

Current Gear : YamahKX61 midi controller, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones, FL Studio 9 XXL and a creative X-FI platinum Soundcard.

I've also started doing research into Cubase and Pro-tools, but I won't have the money to afford them for a semester or two.

Favorite top-3 trance sub-genre's are : Progressive, Dance and Uplifting.

I have a couple tracks I'm actively working on, with one nearing completion. I would love to share and see what you guys think but I couldn't find any blatant resource on a recommended method for music sharing.

This is prety impressive did you start with fl3 when it first came out, that must be around 2000/2001. It is actually the first version of fruity I started to use myself - although I had used a few programs before it.

Yeah I took a cubase based course in university. If you like constructing music, cubase is pretty good for that. Personally I am more the mindless let the vsts and samples do the work, more of a arranger sequencer. Cubase is definately a sequencer. I hear pro tools is studioware and is only good if you have a bunch of gear. I could be wrong though.

If you ever feel like collaborating in flstudio you can email me at [email protected]

Yep, thanks. First thing I do is RTFF (read the fucking forums), which includes the rules and knowledgebase sections... so it's all good.

I actually might post later tonight after I've reviewed/watched that trippy youtube video that Suspician posted.

If there's some sort of COR test, you just passed it.

Anyway: a serious word of introduction. TA is a massive forum and most sub-forums have mostly seperate little groups of regulars. You probably want to spend a lot of time in the Production forums. The COR doesn't care about your music. They care about fisting jokes.
