don't really have anything to complain about ... maybe slightly better weather would have been nice but the clouds were welcome for me on both friday + sunday as I was sporting sunburns from thursday + saturday (I never learn) so the relief was nice
fav parties in no particular order:
s+d yacht party --- crazy once in a lifetime kind of an experience. top shelf open bar and a quality buffet for $125 a ticket in retrospect seemed like a steal. boat was incredibly pimping. like were talking granite / marble countertops and tables throughout the boat, nice paintings, etc. the tunes were really good, I loved what sasha was playing, lots of funky bassy goodness with some nice melodies sprinkled throughout. only things that put a damper on the cruise was the washroom situation and the sound (it randomly cut out a couple of times).
jz + friends yacht party --- again another top shelf open bar on a super nice boat all for $75. not as nice as the s+d yacht but still looked and sounded miles better then any boat I have ever been on in TO. obviously the scenery of the miami bayfront + ocean > lake ontario lol. timo was pretty good and jz, who I don't normally like too much was fucking awesome. he just absolutely ripped it and I was totally feeling it which was a nice surprise. the s+d yacht had a more chilled out industry party kind of vibe to it, whereas this boat was crazy pumping party vibes from start to finish
cadenza lab @ grass --- great music and awesome club. the outdoor area with the hawaiian luau theme, and inside with the gothy / apothecary theme was super cool. grass lounge was tied for my fav venue of the conference with eden roc (tho I didn't go back to karu & y this year). luciano and his crew ripped it inside and out and the end of the set with all of the classics thrown down was alot of fun.
everything else was at least good/decent ... just not up to the same caliber of those 3 for me.
day parties again, are way more fun for me then the night time jams and to me is what going to miami is all about. glad we didnt do too much at night and saved ourselves for the day parties.

I could not agree more! I'm pretty sure I'll be doing a day party each day next year and at least 1 boat party (Probably the Tikki... I want to see that fuckin' sketchy pelican!).
I'm already planning and budgeting for next year. Victor Hotel poolside bungalow ftmfw.

I thought, "Oh right, if I categorically eliminate all other people, it's just me and her. She'd like that.
"Especially you" I said.
"You are virtually the ring leader, the way I see it."
Then, I blew out the candle.

are you really that surprised? fucking guy is untouchable in the programming dept... I've always wondered how much of his sets are 'pre-planned' for that reason...

I can usually find a few miffs in his sets...especially seeing him live....I would imagine a gig like this....which is essentially his showcase for the year is at least 80% planned....it was flawless. I've never heard anything that perfect before. Every single aspect of his set was on point.

you can only 'pre-plan' so much
