Keep in mind that there's a slight resurgence of these styles of music, specially among the Techno crowd that goes to fabric. Something you certainly cannot say about Kenneth Thomas.

Hipsters love Club Fabric in the UK even though half of them haven't even been there. But those cds are cool aren't they? I have some myself. Club Fabric from the UK also books Dj Hype and other music that has nothing to do with hipster techno and obviously since the UK hipster mecca books these Djs it ok for a detroit festival to book these djs too but a Dj active in fucking detroit for 6 years has no place in a Detroit festival because club fabric in the UK would not book him...

Just because someone is from an area is not a better reason to book them than a genre they play. Christ.
In your terms: If you are having a huge trance festival does it make sense to hire a "hipster" DJ from the area or a trance DJ from another area?
