im pretty sure being jewish is a religion and not a race. jews have the same dna as arabs. Albiet they have been breeding with soley jews for a couple of thousand years, they are by no means phenotypically different.

I've heard people say several times that the jews are the only people that can be classified as a race and religion. Not sure how much of that is legit or not, but whatever... just adding my 2 cents.

That's opening a can of worms I never understood. How can something be both a race and a religion? I never understood the Jewish "race"...can't you say that's Israeli? Or would that mean that Jews came from Israel, and no one wants to give them that satisfaction lol

I'm working for the Census and if you remember filling out the questionnaire there are two race questions. When you think about what defines race the questions are confusing. For example they give choices like "Mexican" "Puerto Rican", "Cuban", etc. But these aren't really races they are nationalities. Many of the Caribbean countries are mixtures of Native, Spanish, and Black. Its possible to be white but hold Mexican citizenship which would then technically speaking make you Mexican. If you want to trace your ancestry all the way back, we all came from Africa, so we are all black.

From what I understand Jews want to preserve their heritage/religion/culture by making their kids only marry Jews. But this usually ends up being perceived as Jews think they are better and separate from the rest of us and that engenders animosity towards them.

Another argument is the droves of people that convert to Judaism. You can't convert to black or Chinese.

not the case. This is why you have so many "white" converts (blue eyes, paleish etc) who marry the men. It happens so much. You can only imagine then that the "geneitc lineage" will begin to dissipate.

If being jewish was a "race", they would all look like arabs, there would be no negro jews or jews with blond hair and blue eyes.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there can't be an exuberant amount of phenotypic differences in a race. Usually you look at someone and say. "oh they are black, oh they are white, or they are middle eastern, indian, etc"
