I'm sorry, but whoever doesn't like classical music, or what is best defined as Western Art Music from the Renaissance to the present, cannot be a real trancer or does not understand the genre at all.

thats the proper way a real trancer should act like classical musik is very beautiful, relaxing...
i cant stand heavy/trash/gothic metal its such a useless gender of musik, i wudn't even consider musik with rap/hip hop, well there's good hip hop and rap, and there's shitty of the both, so it all depends. rock musik is nice, alternative is nice! Jazz is a very old musik gender coz it originated in the late 1700's (i think) in New Orleans, by black people who were slaves once...

I voted pop, because to me pop is a really big genre it includes the traditional boy bands, as well as all the falsly aggresive nu-metal bands, and the "punk(i.e blink 182 who think there punk etc). I really like real punk and metal but that shit just doesnt cut it. To me pop is anything fake, and manufactured in the studio.

I love classical, i always have, and thats why i like trance, is cause its very similar. :/
I hate pop.
i find it sickning, that people can make millions off of there looks, and other people writing songs for them. blah! |
I totally agree with you about that classical music thing! But there's nothing wrong in having someone writing music for you: in this case, you're showing your vocal technique, not your composing skills (though I prefer people to write their own songs). Also, I believe there is one spark of art in pop music, which is actually j-pop (japanese pop) and some Brazilian pop (as far as I know). I got addicted to j-pop because of those several trance remixes from Ayumi Hamasaki, and today I listen to the original versions almost as much as trance. The lyrics are intelligent and the melody is often rich too (there are exceptions, obiously). Brazilian pop is also very interesting because it blends some of our native styles with everything that comes from other countries (including trance!).
It's hard to say that "I hate that style" because there might be something good about it. I usually don't like r'n'b, country and some commercial Brazilian music styles (there must be some crap for the masses, right?) but it doesn't mean I won't ever give it a chance. Where's r'n'b in that poll, by the way!?

GANGSTA RAP. followed by gothic (think marilyn manson), country, and cheesy dance/rave/pop.
and anything that goes like this --
"doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot,
doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot,
doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot,
doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot-doot.
face down, ass up, that's the way we like to fuck. face down, ass up, that's the way we like to fuck. (repeat 20 times) fuck. fuck. fuck. fuck. fuck. fuck. fuck.
beep-thump-beep-thump-thump,
beep-thump-beep-thump-thump,
beep-thump-beep-thump-thump,
beep-thump-beep-thump-thump...
(wash yer ass every day, wash yer whole body every day, brush yer breath at least 2 or 3 times a day, with your 'teef'. and then, you know, wash yer face.)"
BLETCH!! that must be a bad combination of rap and cheesy booty house.
