You know what, I regret my mistakes at least once a month.
I learn quite a lot revisiting my errors and analysing each and everyone of my major cock-ups. Why did I do that? What would've happened if I did otherwise? What hindered my judgement back then and how can I change it? Why do I feel sad about it? Such and such... |
I do that too, immediately after said cock-up. I take what I can from it and move along. No use dwelling over it 2 - 3 years later, like some people.. *cough* LoveHate.

I don't know why people seem to think regret (or, for that matter, sadness) is an inherently bad thing. It can be constructive as well as destructive, you just need to know how to cope with it. |
It's not a bad thing. There is nothing more natural than feeling sadness or nostalgia. But as you said, you need to know how to cope with it and learn from it.. they're supposed to be constructive experiences. Sadly a lot of people have defeatist attitudes and dwell on regret, thus making it destructive, which is bad juju all around.
