Kenny Glasgow (Toronto)
One of the initiators of the infamous Family Tree Parties during the
initial wave of house that hit Toronto, Kenny Glasgow is aware of the
true meaning of underground. Presented with his accomplices Jeremy and Mike who formed the trio JMK (J, M Kenny = JMK!), their dissident party nights have welcomed caliber guests like Roger Sanchez, Teddy Douglas and Nick Holder until the mid-90s. Over the years, Glasgow polished his craft to bring out his unique style that delves in elements of minimal hard house and funky techno. Energy and sophistication are his approach and have served us well while listening to the successful compilation The Toronto Mix Sessions released by Turbo Recordings in the fall of 2001.
Terry Francis (London)
The superior capacity to eloquently mix house with techno, have made of Terry Francis one of Britain's esteemed DJs. Resident of the infamous Fabric club in London from which he has mixed his latest CD, Francis keeps evolving, dead front of the electronic dance wave. Producer under his own name or under the pen name Housey Doingz (in duo with studio partner Nathan Coles), winner of the Musik award in 1997, he manages to push the envelope of tech-house frontier with superb efficiency. Terry Francis is without a doubt one of this world's most respected DJ.
Christian Smith (Sweden)
For any self-respecting techno buff, the Tronic label is synonymous of innovation and quality. A definition that perfectly corresponds to its founder Christian Smith whose influence strongly marked the new funky and powerful tech-house sound. Member of the Swedish clan that brings us names like Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebush and Joel Mull, Smith combines his skillful production projects with his DJ career to send him to tour the four corners of this world. This three-turntable pro has an unmatchable reputation for creating original and enthralling beats. His productions and mixes are part of the setlists of the world's best DJs, which have made him a leading figure of the electronic scene. His brilliant CD mix Tronic Treatment has confirmed the reputation of a true craftsman.
Stacey Pullen (Détroit)
Leader of the second Detroit wave of techno architects, Stacey Pullen
was inspired by predecessors such as Derrick May and Juan Atkins to help explore his own way. Essentially honorable and independent, Pullen is faithful to his techno roots while blending in airy house and ethnic elements. His production work has hit fame once again with his latest album Today Is The Tomorrow You Were Promised Yesterday, regrettably only available as an import in Canada. In demand on all continents, this DJ transcends his mixes on a host of dance-floors sending out inventive passionate rhythms for a state of total well-being.
