lol i've been listening to electronic music since i can remember, including trance although i didn't know was trance , but Armada owns half of the labels, thats why almost own the market, still ASOT is around 8 years old, thats quite an old time and the classics he played on the first shows were from 1994 or so, not much trance before 1994 so there were but most tracks considered classics now are from 1995-2002 or so.

never said that he played more than one classic or 2 per show, i don't like the music he plays but just it is unavoidable that he plays something cool, last episode i've seen he has played a bootleg of Alphazone - Revelations .

When in fact they are actually pop DJ's. They make pop videos in the same way Pop acts do, to attract themselves to the masses. Being famous comes first to them, not the music.

They are abusing the Trance genre so they stay 'cool'. This rocks the boat for the true Trance fans, DJs and producers as 'Trance' is being devalued by them.

Ask most people away from Trance and they look at the Trance scene as a laughing joke saying it's pop.The media wont take trance serious anymore. We all know it can be credible and have some serious talent out there (may it be uplifting - hard) that are getting overlooked due to the Trance genre being tarnished.

everything he said.

Moving away from the Dutch sound?

I dont think so. The whole house-trance invention, which you purists probably HATE, also started in Holland.

Now that house also makes trance-house, a la Tim Berg - Bromance, and Swedish House Mafia - One, the party is complete. 2011 will be the year of trance-house.

Jochen Miller - Classified is a good example too. Thats todays Dutch sound.

Yeah Holland is also home of other excellent dance genres such as hardstyle and the whole happy hardcore sound was very big there.
Do you dutch people ever do wrong? Apart from giving birth to that nazi Geert Wilders.

I don't even know why people make these kinds of threads anymore.

If you like classic trance, then listen to classic trance.

Otherwise quit the bitching and moaning because it's not going to do a fucking thing.
