I think a lot of people resent his blind ambition.

Merely reporting the contants oft a documentary made by a known BBC impartial broadcaster.

Here's the programme write up direct from the BBC;

You may not have heard of Malcolm Cecil or Robert Margouleff but you'll certainly be familiar with their work. These two electronic music boffins helped transform Little Stevie Wonder in to one of the greatest song writers in pop music. They produced and engineered four albums that are widely regarded as "Stevie's classic period." Four albums that featured his most enduring songs such as Living For the City, Superstition, Higher Ground and You Are the Sunshine of My Life. Stevie was at the height of his creative powers but Margouleff and Cecil were his sonic architects, steering him away from the bubble gum pop sound of Motown.
Central to Margouleff and Cecil's production style was their creation, TONTO. The Original New Timbral Orchestra was a huge, room-sized super-synthesiser developed with the express purpose of making this new, intimidating technology work together as a giant electronic ensemble. Margouleff and Cecil manipulated its futuristic controls, while Stevie played its keyboards. The results turned out to be timeless. Their pioneering electronic developments in sound and production proved hugely influential to black popular music in the 1970s.
As well as Stevie Wonder, Margouleff and Cecil have worked with a whole host of big name artists such as The Isley Brothers, Gil Scott-Heron, George Harrison and Devo. So why have you never heard of them? Broadcaster and fan Stuart Maconie investigates their story and argues we should be celebrating these forgotten men of pop instead of consigning them to Rock 'n' Roll's backroom staff.

they did the synths

As with most of Stevie Wonder's albums, he did everything. The production , the performances. Those guys had little to do with the actual shaping of the album and just made noises. They were credited but perhaps now you understand why Stevie said fuck no to them getting royalties. They didn't write the tracks, they didn't write the lyrics, they didn't do the production. They made a few synth noises that were not integral to the tracks.

Have you even heard any Stevie Wonder ? It sounds 100% Motown. If there was a real producer, ie the in house producer, he wasn't credited as was Motown's philosophy at the time.

Listen to the tracks you named. I posted the videos for fuck sakes. There are almost no synths to speak of except a minimoog here and there. AS far as I know , no sound designer is ever in the frontline nor should they be. I don't know why the BBC felt they had to make an exception for these tossers.

Can you name the guys that did the foley and sounds for the first Star Wars trilogy ? Then why on earth would you give a fuck about these guys and the minimoog they used on Stevies Albums. Using words like architect is reminiscent of the Matrix like this guy was controlling everything. Stevie probably just wanted a minimoog and this guy unfortunately came with it.

Because of the super secret nature of the BBC ? How could someone based in America be in the know ? You're right. Have you considered not being an idiot ?

Nope.

Because you cannot have 'seen' it as you said. It is a radio show, so seeing is absolutely impossible.

Nuff of this madbrad.

I have no interest in a flame. I merely reported what someone on a show had said, next thing I know your all over me like a rash.
I know nothing. I'm sh1t. I'm part of the 'presession of the deluded'.

Is this more drama I see brewing?

M4B, bash the documentary if you want, but was it really necessary for you to start putting down everybody who's seen it and possibly believed some of it? You can correct factual errors without being a dick - in fact, if you had omitted the first paragraph from your first reply in here, it would have had exactly the same impact but (probably) not started another pissing match.

Can we have some civility from everyone please?
