Actually, no, that's not true. Germ-phobic morons like Theresa have this insistence on washing their hands at every available moment, not realising that ingesting a constant flow of low-level germs is actually quite healthy for you. The funny thing is, that if you watch people washing their hands, only about 10% people actually seem to do it properly.
That is: taking at least 30 seconds, and scrubbing every part of your hand, all the way up past your wrist, in between the webbing, and on the back. Splashing water on your hands for five seconds (as most do) does absolutely nothing to rid your hands of bacteria. In fact, the added moisture on your hands will probably help them thrive more.
