i'd love if they started bring in more funky/deep house DJ's, but if it means that every wanna-be DJ is going to start playing it, and all the posers will start coming out acting like they just discovered it then I'm against it. I've been on the funky/deep train for a long time and I like where it is musically. It doesn't need to be bastardized for the mass appeal.

edit then again, if this sound manages to weed out all of the jersey shore rejects from the clubs then i'm all for it. they can go back to their top 40 clubs, since they're playing that "electro hip hop" crap nowadays.

Joris Voorn is the shit, and what he has done in the past 3 years or so (and more) is amazing.

But does anyone else feel that almost everything (sets, livesets, radio shows, CDs) he put out in 2010 to be just one giant combination of the same tracks?

I've donwnloaded bunches of them over the year and they all see for the most part, pretty much the same.

He drops The Secret, his remix of Beachball, his Professional Widow vs. Spastik, and bits and pieces of his EM all over.


Still all enjoyable, just nothing fresh if you already heard a couple of his mixes from the same year.

Unless I'm missing some awesome amazing one that will change my thoughts above. Which is entirely possible, because I know what that man is capable of.

I agree, but he's playing the game and doing it very well. He's aware of what the crowd wants to hear, and gives it to them. He has said before in interviews that he is tired of doing 4/4 dancefloor house as there is no challenge to him. Apparently his album will be very different from what most expect. I think it's great that he's building such great demand and then prepares to drop something completely different into the open ears of loyal fans.

That being said, I'm not going out of my way to DL any more of his sets anytime soon.

Did you hear his Balance double CD? Excellent, and very distinct from what he does in clubs.
