There is a great, big tree that practically hangs over my deck, so lots of birds collect up there in the morning sun. The other day, a lone raven was perched right above my bedroom window, just cawwing periodically. I got up, got some coffee and a smoke and went on the deck to wake up, it was still there. We acknowledged one another for a while, but then, on the street below, a fat lady came by, and I hesitate to say she was jogging, but she was breathing extremely loud; the raven went nuts. I think it could tell she was on the verge of death, because it started squawking at her and hopping around in little circles, as though it was doing some sort of little victory dance.

So yeah, birds are important to me. And corpulent joggers.

While there are a lot of importance aspects of a house - one thing clearly proves far more essential than the rest: the bathroom. Particularly the shower, but the entire bathroom in general.

edit: the second most important thing is seaview. And if you are fortunate the get a bathroom seaview - that is the dream.

overall floorplan. rooms have to be decently sized/appropriate. i went thru one house that had a great plan, but all three bedrooms were ridiculously small.

also placement of utility area. saw another house w/ w/d hookups in the kitchen. no ma'am.

garage/carport...sometime to shelter the vehicle.

bathroom. i really don't care for a showerstall too much. or if there is one, it has to be nice so it doesn't remind me of a gym.

also: no large trees. if something is to collapse/fall/break, i don't want it to smash my entire house. or if it does, make sure it's from the neighbor's yard.

A completely wired home (surround, network, sat etc). Energy efficient everything to keep the elements out is amazing.

And having the neighbors more than 8 feet away.

must haves.

multiple bathrooms with bath shower...his/hers bathrooms = the best solution for morning rushing.

lots of natural light.

big dining room we have a lot of dinner parties.

no attached houses, we make noise.

no young neighbours, they are always knocking and stuff because they need friends and are losers.

room for 2 cars in the driveway is a minimum....the ability to fit 3 is a bonus.

big yard complete with nigger chained to the patio to mow it.

laundry room far from common areas for cat boxes.

integrated shelving is always a bonus.
