Alright, so, came at two thirty, was expecting to have to stand in line because the event was "sold out" online.. Wasnt the case, in fact it was rather empty. I was happy to see the same Asian ravers I saw last time I was at redlite, 2-3 years ago, in fact it was only them who occupied the dancefloor until almost 4 when It started to fill up. The opening dj, uppercut I believe, was blasting trance as if he was opening for sander van doorn, wtf dude, 132-133 bpm before Sasha?!? Terrible. Had to endure the beats of the unicorns until 4:15 when sir Sasha finally stepped up. Absolutely sick set! I had a blast. He dropped some freakin unbelievable choons. All of my friends and I were loving it! However, didn't seem like Sasha was liking it as much as we did, he bolted out of there at 6:40.. So overall he played 30min less then he should have. Can't blame the guy, there was no vibe, the crowd was boring, and the place was half empty. Shame. Sound system was lacking too, songs just didn't sound right. But despite all of that, I'm glad I went there instead of dubfire, good old Sasha never disappoints. Next station: digweeeeed

I agree. His set was fucking awesome. I loved every second of it, but I really didn't like the feel of the crowd/atmosphere, and you could really tell Sasha felt the same way. The bass was not congruent with the rest of the sounds. Songs did indeed sound different. I think that might have been the last time I go to red lite for a long time, unless I hear some good things about it in the future. A couple of weeks ago I saw Emery at Circus and everything about it was unbelievable; the crowd, the atmosphere, the music. I would have loved to see this event happen at Circus instead!

what everyone is saying on here: amazing set, perhaps the best dj set I have ever witnessed. Techy, proggy, massive drops, amazing trippy effects .... but unfortunately those trippy effects were suppressed a bit at Red Lite, as the system is not up to par with the other afters.
For selfish reasons the half empty floor was welcomed by yours truly as there was room to move, but it did take away massively from the vibe as mentioned in earlier reviews.
I have to agree with Mrs Haus: should have been at Stereo. Or even Circus. Yet again, another comical misfortune with these guys as the Telus gig gets moved to Red Lite and then the place is half empty
highlight of the night: after 6900 posts on TA, Spin finally meets Malek
Great convo, man, looking forward to seeing you again soon

Once I took a piss in front of everybody at Stereo. Put the garbage under the mixer, and did it right there while people were dancing and screaming. people thought I was playing with the mixer but I was playing with my zizi. |

Does anyone know where I can find a track list for that set? Or some of the songs he played?

What a great set by the master. What I love the most about Sasha is how he can mix it up and play a totally different sound when you see him, depending on how he wants to play. My friend's first time seeing Sasha play, so I was asked to keep my opinion to myself as to whether he was doing great, mediocre, ok, or bad. So this I did; but it was quite difficult when the smile could not leave my face all night.
In my opinion the best "afterhours" Sasha set I have seen so far. He was slammin the dark rolling prog and he just wouldn't let up. Guv 2008 was a pretty close second, but that set had a lot of melodies, layers and was very "Sasha Artistic" imo.
Nice intro, could have had a bit more to it, but starting with some vocals is always a nice touch I like from him. Great way to start a new party after Uppercut opened it up; which I must say was THE worst opening set I have ever heard... and leading in for a legend like Sasha... After Sasha was finished, I could now somewhat understand as to why he may have opened... so Sasha could steal the show.
We spent most of the set up top above the DJ booth, just watching the crowds reaction. I thought what people were there were totally into it. Had my "Sasha Moment" hands on the head "WTF!!!"... I looked down to see a few more people experiencing the same thing.
The man is a legend...when he wants to be.... The venue could have been better but I still enjoyed it because he showed up, granted LATE, which is typical for him.
Successful night out.
Thanks Haus and Spin and all....
