I have no words. this is atrocious. it reeks of desperation for a "hit".

I don't hate Markus like some of you seem too. I like him but this video and song made me cringe.

No matter your experience (true or not) do not assume that you know what an artist is doing. Unless you are a psychic or a close friend of Markus, you will not TRULY know what is going on.

To dismiss the fact that he's a commercial DJ is nonsense. As with any product you sell in the World, if you want to sell more and make more money, that product must appeal to the masses and be more commercially viable. Markus obviously reached a point in his career where he couldn't get any further in the Progressive scene, he wanted more. Looking at the commercial Trance scene, it was much bigger. Grossed a hell of a lot more income, and was more accessible to masses, so he took this move.

There's no physic needed, the proof is in watching his moves.
Most daytime radio stations for example wont support instrumental tracks, nor tracks over 4 minutes long. To reach the greater masses you need this support, why he's making 3:30 minute versions of his vocal tracks in order to gain radio support.
The same can be said in the media World with MTV and such territorially, again why he makes supporting videos for his singles to get airplay support this growing his brand.

The more you guys support the fact he just a regular specialist Trance DJ, just devalues the true meaning of Trance. You/Markus cheapen the value of this scene, Trance is becoming a cheap laughable genre thanks to this misrepuestation.

Sleepwalkers, even the vocal mix is hardly an attempt to attract mainstream audience. If you think it is, you either never listen to mainstream music or you didn't actually listen to the song. Markus has definitely made songs that do fall into more mainstream than trance, but this? No. It's not trance by a longshot, but it's not mainstream by a longshot either. Is it an attempt to get a wider audience or even to target a specific audience? Maybe. But since I've been reading about how Markus loved break dancing growing up and as young adult for the last 5-6 years, I'm going to take him for his word that this really was just a passion project for fun.

I played this track last week during my radio show and many people like it. I like it as well.
