By 2004 there is expectations of 100% pass rates for a-levels.

I know some people lie about revising. I work hard all year round, im just saying that i know people who do it at the last minute and stuff and use me, thats what makes me angry

It depends. A levels tackle specific areas of a topic pretty intensively, wheras degrees give you a big broad understanding. But since you need A levels to go onto a degree, then degrees do need more work.

I've seen the History degree syllabuses and they don't look that hard. I did it at A level and instead of doing broad studies, we just did a 30 yr period of history and studied that to fuck for a year until we were a genius on that topic, and did a different one the second year. Didn't really give us a broad knowledge of history, so unless you're asked about that topic you couldn't hold your own in a conversation, but it taught us the research skills etc. A degree is what you need to be able to hold your own on any topic of your subject. A history degree student would know a fair bit about virtually any period of the last millenium, wheras I did A levels and basically know shitloads about the rise of fascism and nazism in Europe, but not a lot else.

I'm not going to Uni now though so it doesn't matter.

a girl that goes to my school got 15 A* GCSE's!!!! the highest in the country this year. Both her parents work at the school as well :\

To study music at Hull University, they wanted a B C C. i got a B D E, and they still accepted me! yeah baby!
