I love George Carlin and all but it's still kind of retarded that certain Asian countries still kill tigers for their coats and their massive tiger dicks which get used as aphrodisiacs (0 scientific basis for that I might add).

I wasn't talking about global warming. I more meant that humans are greedy consuming assholes and as our population continues to boom, and exponentially increase, we're just going to need more. and more. and more.

I'm not some environmental hippy, I just really would like to see people care a little bit more about our planet and environment in general as it's really all we've got. We came from it and depend on it; for now at least. Plus, Earth and all the wildlife that lives here is fucking awesome, and a lot of people don't seem to appreciate that, or even really care.

At the start, let me say I am not an animal rights activist. I'm not comfortable with absolutes.
And I know that every time something eats, something else dies. I recognize the Earth is a little more than a revolving buffet with weather. So, the idea of eating animals is fine with me, but is it really necessary to make things out of the parts we don't eat? We're the only species that does this. You never see a mongoose with snakeskin shoes. Or a lion walkin' around in a wildebeest hat. An how often do you run into plankton that have phytoplankton luggage?
And I think people have a lot of nerve locking up a tiger and charging four dollars to let a few thousand worthless humans shuffle past him every day. What a shitty thing to do. Humans must easily be the meanest species on Earth. Probably the only reason there are any tigers left is because they don't taste good.

George Carlin

just take a look at this graph.

yeah that's the way. post a picture that doesn't provide a single T for reference purposes. how many thousands or millions of years do those spikes represent exactly?

As above. climate change isn't so much about temperatures as it is rate of change. which is well outside natural variability according to any of the literature you care to source.

remember that over 99.9% of all species that have ever existed are now extinct. Anyone who thinks that simply "our role" in inducing carbon emissions being the sole cause of climate change is delusional and uneducated.

nice strawman. no climate scientist thinks greenhouse gases are the only contributor to climate.

We also know that the IPCC has a history of embellishing the facts with regards to climate change.

the IPCC collects data from real studies and tries to dumb them down so idiots like you and i can undertand them. sometimes errors are made. but for the most part, climate science predictions are very conservative.

its because clowns like kev confuse science with the green movement, so their natural tendency is to oppose it.

there isn't a single scientific organisation in the world that disputes the consensus. the last was the american association of petroleum geologists (gee, i wonder why they took so long?). but even they retracted their denialist stance in 07.

even the industries that invested so much money in junk science to deny AGW are no longer denying the veracity of the science supporting it. it is beyond hilarious (and not a little sad) seeing people like kev are still marching to that beat

have any of you noticed that the term "global warming" is slowly being dropped for the more catch-all "climate change" term?

lol

it's a fucking scam, and we're actually entering a colder period
