I saw deadhouse at Mavericks right here in Ottawa in 2007, in a dingy, non descript sketchy but lovable afterhours (now it's just a bar has live rock bands, capacity is maybe 200). He played a very sleepy two-hour set but it only cost me $20
What did I take away from that gig? That his sound had some potential for mass appeal, that he would do well in commercial projects using that sound (which I wrote about on ta). I also took away from that gig that the guy was a bit of a prick after briefly meeting him

lol, no beard stroking and no stroking of anything else....only started perusing Redtube few months ago and already I'm tired of it.

Believe it or not, brostep was an accepted sub-genre before Jay mentioned it. It's largely attributed for tainting the name of dubstep.
And -1 point for taking the "stroke" reference I dangled in front of you.
