it's a waste of everyones time. if you hate a particular dj keep it to yourself. there is no need for you to tell the world that you think they suck. you're only looking for a flame war if you do and will insult people that like that particular dj which could lead to other things. and tiesto is awesome, yes.

Who says it's popular to hate Tiesto?
It's all a matter of personal opinion, and for those of you who rely on opinion to get your thoughts across, I've got a few words for you: No one really gives a fuck. Just like no body gives a fuck about what I think. But we all continue to slip in personal biases and thoughts about matters relevant to us.
Think about it. Who really cares if you like Tiesto or hate him? That case is further magnified for the opposites: A Tiesto-lover's opinion will be as much significance as the purpose of watching paint dry for the Tiesto hater, no?
This not only is contained in music opinions but lifestyle opinions as well. For me, being a Asian in a predominatly white society is well...just that. Being Asian. I'm either too white wash or too FOBby...never in between. People's biases are so skewed towards their own perceptions that it no longer matters who thinks of WHAT, but how MANY think of WHAT. And that's where trends begin, even if they aren't trends to being with.
A trend's substance will never change...meaning that as long as there are opinions, there will be trends. And as long as there are trends, there will popular demands.
To answer Why Is It Popular To Hate Tiesto, ask yourself this. Why is it popular to like him.
And there you have it.

I think there are 2 reasons that contribute to the popularity of tisto haitng. The first reason is because he was so succesful during the period of 99-01, we have all grown to have great expectations of him, probably expecting at least subliminaly stuff better than before, or always top noch its normal. So when he fails to make an incredible tune its classified as shit because we expect much more than that. The other reason people hate tiesto is because they like to follow the leader. When tiesto bashing first started no one agreed, but later you could see people who praised him, start hateing him for no real reason.

Tiesto is amazing, seeing him live is way better than any livesets you download or his commercial compilations.

Tiesto has became big, well? Who cares? You gonna stop loving him because he's popular? What kind of morons are you? Good music is good music no matter by who its produced or remixed.

Stop beeing the TRANCE ÜBER GEEKS some of you are! For 99% of people Tiesto, Armin, Corsten, PVD don't mean shit. If lets say a given DJ becomes popular and doubles his fans well that ratio is still at 98%. Are you gonna start whinning about him becoming popular? bullshit.

Enjoy the music, the parties and everything else that comes with it.

Here's a footage of a party I went to when Tiesto was spinning... it was one of the best parties I attended. Even if half of the people weren't tranceaddicts grade music lovers, everyone enjoyed the music and partied till 10am!

And most people on this board didn't know Tiesto before Magik 6.

Probably 99% of the crowd at these live events don't know what he is going to spin, and they are blown away by it.

My 2 cents.

Agree !!!
99,9% from the people who go to events are NOT on forums, and dont have livesets, they just go to events and are blown away, well said mate, agree 100%!

This must be the dumbest reply ever, if u like mainstream ur not cool.
If the track is good I don't care if its mainstream...

I don't get it.

If people hate Tiësto they get flamed, but when TA's express their negative thoughts about PVD nobody cares.

Is it because his music is more intelligent, and therefore attracks more intelligent people who dont care if PVD (their idol) is getting bashed?

Been listening to electonic music since 1991, so passed the noob stage long time ago. I like all styles, as long as they have quality productions.

Tiesto is probably experimenting/finding a new style/trying stuff, but for me and many others it just sounds as he is slipping away...
